According to s2s.com, the playwright that we have all grown to love has decided to take a break from his famous stage character, Madea.
You know… The funny, bold, charismatic woman also known as Mabel Simmons — that will go to jail for family and do almost any and everything that she wants to do JUST because she feels like it..?
Earlier this week, Tyler Perry took to his Facebook page and told his friends that he will be putting Madea on hold.
“As much as I love to be out on stage and doing a live Madea show, the time has come again for me to take a long break from the stage,” Tyler said in a statement. “I have some major projects that I’m working on that will require a lot of my time and effort.”
Although, he is putting a hold on the famous character, he does plan to have another show before the character’s hiatus. “Madea Gets A Job” will be his last stage play for a while- he will perform all over the country and tickets start at $25; you can’t beat that.
“If you have never seen me live, you have never seen me at all. I’m telling you, ask anyone who has and they will tell you,” he said. “This show will have you rocking and rolling and laughing and crying and singing all the way back home. You’ll see!”
