[Sharing my story]…
Finding your favorite and THE best facial wash that works for you is like finding out who you are. It could take months, years… or a day of exploring, but when you finally discover it — it’s amazing and everything is then “all right” in the world. For a woman who has sensitive skin, I may have to work harder than others in achieving the perfect glow, and I’m fine with that. Over the last five years, I’ve used the proactiv line, 3 step facial cleanse. It was cool; didn’t really get any breakouts except for the occasional “once a month” type of thing, so overall, nice wash.
But lately, I’ve been wanting to try something new. By your 20′s you should know what truly works for you and what doesn’t. And then after so long, you’d also think that you may have grown past that frustrating battle with sensitive skin. So over the holidays, I tried the popular Original Noxzema Deep Cleansing Wash.

No, no ma’am. Wayyy too harsh for this face. All it did was leave me with an extra dry face. But I really should have known by the cheapo price that it wasn’t happening. I’ll take the blame, cause I’m supposed to ”know” what works and doesn’t right? Right..
So back to the quickie drawing board → back to Proactiv.
I went on and decided I’ll try this Deep Cleansing Wash. I figured our teen heart throb Justin Bieber, who did the commercial for this product, wouldn’t let me down…
Tried it and it left my skin feeling SO amazing. SO soft!, So fresh and so clean, clean. In all 25 years of my life, I’ve never used anything that left my face feeling like it did. Let me tell you. It felt so good, I was counting hours and minutes to bed time just so that I could wash again! Like, seriously. It feels amazing. And it works in other problem areas, like your back and chest.
Gentle exfoliating beads remove dead skin cells that can clog pores,
while botanicals—camellia and aloe— soothe your skin, restoring a healthy glow.
Proactiv made that sound good, right? Haha — and it does exactly that. This medicated body wash also has maximum-strength 2% salicylic acid that goes deep to clear acne blemishes on your face and body.
Another addition to my healthy skin regimen is the deep cleansing brush. I only use this maybe twice a week because I’d hate to stress out this already sensitive face even more. I use it with the regular 3 step cleanse — but honestly, the deep cleansing wash still does a better job overall.
Enough of the rambling. If you’re looking for THE BEST wash, I definitely will give this a 5 star beauty product. It’s not the cheapest thing on the market, but definitely one of the worthy ones. I purchased the larger bottle (16 oz – It’s HUGE!) with a pump and it sits in my shower. If you find that it doesn’t work for you, no worries, Proactiv guarantees your money back!
The other products I use in my healthy skin regimen are:
- H20 — I drink lots and lots of water daily.
- 100% Pure African Shea Butter that I order straight from Ghana
That’s it. Hope I helped someone. Let’s journey to a more healthier skin habit!

Oooh I love shea butter! Where do you order yours from? X
Apologies for my tardy response! But I order from a market through amazon. I purchase a small tub of the 100% Organic Shea Butter from West Africa, and it lasts a really long time! Inexpensive too. Here’s the link: http://www.amazon.com/100-Organic-West-African-Butter/dp/B0009JQFF6
Thanks for stopping by sugar! xC
