Food + Nutrition | How To Read A Label + Healthy Eating Tips

You guessed it. I am back on the fitness tip. I don’t know… somewhere between “oh I’ve got dedication” and traveling to and from my beloved home state of Mississippi over the summer… I slowed down — and down some more. And trust, when you travel to the south, and your southern cookin’ grandmother lives at your parent’s house, well, you know how the story goes. So I’m back at it. Back on the fitness journey. The journey I was so dedicated to for quite a while! Although my eating lifestyle hasn’t quite reverted back to the old habits, the exercising did die down some.

By the way — I really don’t call myself an expert. Just an enthusiast who can clearly distinguish the difference between right + wrong. So with that being said, all fit enthusiasts know that you can not — absolutely can not OUT EXERCISE a bad diet. Not possible. So from the jump, it all begins with a CLEAN fridge. And by clean, I do mean the food (that only applies if your fridge is actually “clean”.) Throw OUT the junk! Throw -It-Out. So what consists of clean eating? Do you know? Because once upon a time, I didn’t have a clue. But I also began to eat fresh foods, which eliminated the labels all together. A few months back, my eating habit consisted mainly of a high protein diet: lots of chicken breast, fresh + steamed veggies, egg whites, omega 3’s, fruit, sweet potatoes, various super foods, and WATER. Went grocery shopping today — and that’s pretty much what my dollars went to. Dollars well spent.
