Black and white photography is my absolute favorite. Black and white portraiture is that much more special. There’s something about the straight forwardness of it all, the absence of illusion. You don’t have the hues of the rainbow to be distracted by. You can’t use the glare of the sun to add warmth, or a span of neutral colors to create a mood. Photographers use highlights, shadows, contrast and depth to create imagery that inspires. The picture must and will speak for itself. After all, they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
