Don’t drink too much

Yes, cocktails on a Friday night with your crew from work might be a load of fun, but what about your poor liver? If you want to have a cocktail or two, that’s fine, but don’t go crazy. Your liver can handle a couple of drinks, but any more than that and it goes into overdrive.

While men should aim to drink no more than a couple of drinks a day, according to research, women should only drink one. Any more than that, and you will be putting your liver at risk. Ask yourself, is that extra drink worth it?

Eat healthy

One of the most important things that you can do to ensure that your liver stays healthy is eat a balanced diet. Don’t eat a diet rich in fatty foods, each a healthy balanced diet, and your liver will thank you for it.

Stick to eating healthy, whole foods, such as non-fatty meat and fish, and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Clean eating is the key when it comes to liver health, the cleaner your diet is, the healthier your liver will be.

Take natural supplements

While it would be nice to think that our bodies could get everything that they need from our diets, that’s not the case. For our bodies to get all the vitamins and nutrients that they need, taking supplements is crucial. There are even supplements that we can take to help boost the health of our livers.

Exercise regularly

As well as following a healthy diet, it’s also crucial that you exercise regularly. Go for a run, go swimming, cycle to work – just make sure that you exercise on a regular basis.

By exercising on a regular basis, you can ensure that you keep your body healthy. This will also prevent the buildup of excess fat, leading to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, which can be fatal.

When we think about our health, our livers don’t instantly spring to mind. However, just like we make an effort to take care of the rest of our bodies, we should also make the effort when it comes to the health of our livers.
