Sometimes, it’s nice to go for a natural makeup look over a more dramatic look. Natural makeup looks really help to enhance our appearance and make the most of the features we have, rather than trying to change them or hide. Read through this step by step guide to help you!
Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturise
You can’t get a perfect natural makeup look if your skin is dirty. Make sure it’s perfectly cleansed, toned, and moisturized before you apply anything at all. You may also want to give your moisturizer 5 minutes to sink in so it doesn’t affect the finish of your foundation!
Apply a Primer
You can then go on to apply your primer. There are primers to suit all budgets and skin types depending on what you want. Some will mattify the face, others will illuminate it. All of them help your makeup to last longer and give a more flawless look!
Choose your Base
Choose the right base for your skin. Some have high coverage, but if you’re going natural you’ll want a more sheer finish. BB cream is perfect for a sheer finish that still helps to perfect the complexion!

If you have small imperfections, you can then go in with a good concealer to cover them up. Under eye circles are a problem for most people, so cover them and blend. Rather than going just under the eye, make a triangle shape to make your eyes look more awake.
Blend, Blend, Blend
Blending is your best friend with any makeup look, but especially with a natural one. I love some of the sponges on the market today, as they take most of the work out of it for you!
Enhance Your Brows, Lashes, and Lips
Now you want to enhance your brows, lashes, and lips. For your brows, use a pencil or a powder and a brush to create a sharper shape. Just remember you’re not going for an overly dark or blocky look. Your want them to look like real hair-strokes, so a light hand and eye for detail is important.
I love to curl my lashes and then apply a lengthening mascara. Not too much though, as they can go too flaky and thick!
For my lips, I make sure there’s no dry skin on them at all by using a scrub. Then I’ll usually apply a nice tinted lip balm or gloss!
A small amount of blush will brighten your face, so dab some onto the apply of your cheeks for a healthy glow. You don’t want too much of this!
Finish With Powder
Finally, use a finishing powder to set the look and add a little bit more of a glow.
I hope you love these natural makeup look tips and they work for you. Remember to do your makeup in natural light so that you can see exactly what it looks like. This is the only way you’ll be able to see if it is blended properly. If it looks good in that light, it’ll look good in any light!
