Depending on what it is you’re doing, you can only get better if you practice. Whether it’s sprinting, skipping, swimming, or something else, practice is a must! Make sure you leave enough time before the event to get lots of practice in and improve your technique. You can’t wing it and expect to be fine without practice.
Listen to Music
Depending on the event, you may not be able to listen to music. If you can, however, then do so! If you’re in the gym in you’re simply trying to improve on previous performances, create an upbeat playlist to keep you working at your hardest. If you’re taking part in a competition, this may not be possible.
Wear the Right Clothes
Wearing the right clothes is so important. If you’re not comfortable while you’re supposed to be working hard, you’ll get distracted. You want to forget about everything other than the task at hand, so to do that, you need to make sure you’re wearing the right clothes. Make sure every aspect has been considered and tested out beforehand to prevent problems. You can look in the Asics womens section to get an idea of different items suited to different sports. Having a coffee before you’re due to perform can perk you up and make you perform better. You’ll find you work harder and stay focused easier. However, this depends on how sensitive you are to caffeine. If you’re used to coffee, you may want to try a pre-workout. If you’re sensitive to too much caffeine, a green tea might work better. Again, this is something you might want to test out beforehand to be sure.
Only you can keep yourself focused above anything else. Other things can help you, but it’s how well you can keep yourself focused that matters. Don’t listen to distracting noises or look at what anybody else is doing. This is all about you and you alone!
