Never Planned A Wedding Before? Here’s How To Make It Perfect

lifestyle_logo

If you’re starting to run out of time to get your wedding organized, you may be about to panic. Yes, it does take a lot of planning, but no you don’t need a lot of time. Some focus and organization are all it takes to create the perfect wedding for you. Here’s how to get started:

Venue

Book a venue for the ceremony. This is the legal part of your union. You may be able to use the same venue for your reception too. Usually, wedding and reception venues are booked up for months. If you have your heart set on one particular place, you may need to push back your wedding date, or settle for somewhere else.

Invites

Send out your invitations before you formally announce your wedding. Perhaps you’re looking at modern invitations for weddings by Paper Theme for a wedding in a contemporary style? The invitation should include your names, who to contact and an easy RSVP.

Dress

Now it’s all official, it’s time to get the dress. If you don’t have long, you might not be able to have a bespoke dress designed. However, there are so many gorgeous designs in the boutiques right now that you are bound to find ‘the one’. Look for modern styles that include elegant detailing in floral designs. Sleeves can be very feminine and chic, especially if you’re wearing gloves too.

Catering

Many venues include a buffet or three-course meal in their pricing package. If you are looking to self-cater, it’s important you find the right help. You need someone to provide the food and display it at your chosen venue. This might be a cheaper way of doing it but it can be quite a lot to organize on your own.

Vows

In the next few weeks, you need to find the right vows for your ceremony. You might choose to write them yourself, but there are great websites you can borrow from. Why not recite a poem you like or the lyrics of a song?

Changes

You might be wanting to change your surname to your married name. If you are departing for a honeymoon after your wedding, be sure your travel documents match up with your credit cards and other ID.

Cake

It is traditional to cut a wedding cake during the wedding reception. You might choose a multi-tiered cake or a cupcake tower. Sometimes someone in the family will offer to make the cake on your behalf. This is a lovely wedding gift.

Car

You will need transportation to the wedding venues. Choose from a horse-drawn carriage, limousine, or sports car to make a big entrance. This will need to be booked early as there is often limited availability for specialist vehicles.

On the day of your ceremony, you may be full of nerves. If you’ve planned and organised your day well, then it should run smoothly. Make sure you enjoy your day after all your hard work!
