There comes a time in everyone’s life when they want to make changes to the way they live. For some people, this means getting themselves fit and healthy. If you’re about to start a new health & fitness regime, here are three things you need to do to prepare:
Make Monthly Plans
A great way to get yourself ready for a health kick is to plan your months in advance. Wait, did she just say months? Surely she meant weeks?! No, I believe that planning an entire month is a lot better and can keep you motivated. You should look at the month ahead and think about what days you’ll be exercising. It’s suggested you try and exercise three to five times every week. So, work out what days you’ll be exercising then plan your workouts. Having your workouts already planned out ahead of time is brilliant. It saves you time as you won’t be sat in a gym trying to think of things to do. No longer can you miss out on exercise because you ‘couldn’t think of something to do’. Make monthly plans and you’ll be ready for your fitness journey.

Go For A Health Checkup
It’s always recommended that you consult your doctor before you start any new fitness regime. This is because you need to find out if your body can do the things you want to do. You should go for a checkup and make sure you don’t have any physical issues like tendonitis or muscle strains. But, you should also check for respiratory diseases, like COPD, which make it hard for you to breathe. Proper breathing is a crucial part of exercising, so you have to ensure your lungs are in good shape. Check to see if you have COPD symptoms, or symptoms of any other respiratory diseases. If you’re all good, and your lungs are fine, then you’re ready to start a new lifestyle!
Stock Up On Healthy Foods
A big part of being healthy is what you eat and drink. If you’re unhappy with your body, it may be down to the foods you’re eating. Bearing that in mind, if you’re making a change to become healthier, you’ll want to get rid of all the bad food in your house. Throw out those calorific treats and the foods high in fat and salts. Instead, head down to the grocery store and stock up on healthy foods. Make sure you’re buying loads of fruit and veg, your mother was right, they are good for you! Also, think about buying things like frozen chicken breasts and fish. If you buy frozen, it means they’ll keep for a long time. So, you don’t have to keep going out and buying chicken breasts. With your house now full of healthy foods, think about what you drink. I recommend you drink lots of water, either from the bottle or tap. Also, consider getting natural fruit juices too. Remember, you can always blitz up some of that fruit and veg to make a killer smoothie.
