Beauty Advice | Should You Get A Nose Job?

beautytips_logo

We all have insecurities while some of us aren’t happy with the size of our hips others of us hate our noses. While some of our ‘flaws’ we can work past and learn to love, or tolerate, at least, others of them we aren’t. If, for instance, you’ve always hated your nose, you might be thinking about undergoing cosmetic surgery.

Before you go under the knife, take the time to think the decision through. It might be something you’ve wanted your whole life, but it’s still important to do your research and ensure it’s not a rushed decision. To help you ensure that undergoing rhinoplasty – aka a nose job, is right for you, here’s what you need to know.

It’s a hard procedure to get right

Of all the cosmetic treatments on offer, rhinoplasty is one of the hardest to get right. This means that rates of success are low in clinics where surgeons aren’t adequately trained. That’s why it’s crucial that you choose your clinic and surgeon carefully.

While no cosmetic procedure ever gives perfect results, if you opt to have your work done by a specialized surgeon the results should be good. If you go with a general cosmetic surgeon, instead of someone who has specialized, the results of your procedure will be far poorer.

Be realistic

Don’t let yourself get swept away in the excitement about getting your new nose. Instead, make sure to be realistic about your expectations. You might think that getting your nose reduced in size will make everything in your life better, but that’s not the case. You may be more confident, but that doesn’t mean every other area of your life will be just as you imagined it would be.

Pick your new nose carefully

The chances are that you’ve got an idea of the type of nose you would like. However, it’s important to realize that not all nose shapes look right on every face shape. So a nose that suits your friend might not look right on you.

When it comes to noses, one size definitely doesn’t fit all, and it’s important to understand that. Take your time choosing your nose and ask your surgeon for advice on what size and shape would work best.

Understand healing will take time

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that after a rhinoplasty procedure, your nose will heal quickly. The truth is that in most cases, it can take weeks, or even months, for the nose to heal. For the first few weeks your nose will be bruised, swollen and sore. Over time, the swelling with go down and the bruising will fade, but it could take up to six months for your nose to heal fully.

While cosmetic surgery could be the answer to your self-confidence issues, that’s not always the case. It’s important to take your time when thinking about undergoing a rhinoplasty procedure. As with all surgical procedures,  it’s not a decision that should be made lightly. Think it through, and if you still want to go ahead with it, then have the procedure done.
