Losing weight might seem like this big complicated process, but it really doesn’t have to be. In order to lose weight, you just have to take in fewer calories and burn more of them to see results. Of course, this isn’t as easy as it sounds either – exercising and cutting your favorite foods out of your diet can be tough – which is why I’ve compiled a few ideas that will help you simplify your weight loss and see fast steady results.
Plan Your Meals
If you don’t want to give into temptation because you’re hungry and you only have cookies and chips in the cupboard, it is essential that you plan your meals. Take out a piece of paper and write down everything you plan to eat for seven days. Go to the store and buy only the foods on this list. You’ll only consumer the number of calories you need to lose weight safely and, even if you are tempted to cheat, you won’t be able to!
Weigh Once a Month
So many people fall off the weight loss wagon because they don’t see a loss or they see a small gain on one of their many daily weigh-ins. This is so frustrating because our weight fluctuates all the time and we need to look at the long-term trends to see how we’re really doing. So, instead of being a slave to the scales, only check them once every month. You won’t worry as much, and you’ll be really surprised by how well you’ve done when you do check.
Pick an Exercise You Can Do
If you want to stick with an activity, it is easier to pick one you already enjoy and have some aptitude for than it is to choose something that’s tough and which you hate. So, if you love cycling, check out the Turbo trainer reviews at Vikao and look into the benefits of cycling in and outside the home, or if you like soccer, be sure to check out the United States Adult Soccer Association to find a team near you. Exercise won’t feel so much like a chore then.
Build in Activity
Alternatively, you could try to build more activity into your day. So, instead of taking the car to work, walk or cycle; instead of sitting down during commercials, get up and jog on the spot; take the stairs instead of the elevator. All of these things will help you to burn more calories without really inconveniencing you.
Leave Three Bites
When you’re eating a meal, try to eat three fewer bites than you normally would, and you could save the equivalent of 25 pounds worth of calories every year without any hardship at all!
Did you know it takes 20 minutes for us to feel full? If you scarf your food down, chances are you’ll still feel hungry after you’ve eaten the whole plate. If, however, you take small bites, chew eat bite thoroughly and put your knife and fork down after every bite, you will find that you feel full long before your plate is empty.
