..Because of all this Coronavirus pandemic going on, I thought I’d be a little transparent with you regarding a big hit my family and I took about 6 months ago. We have never shared this before, but our son was diagnosed with this very rare, often misdiagnosed disease called “Kawasaki”. He was treated and has been cured now, but the point of this is that patients who are ill in any way, or immunocompromised.. they will suffer the most when dealing with the Coronavirus. Had this been NOW that my son developed this, would be extremely HARD to keep him safe and out of arm’s reach of those who are compromised. Regardless if you are healthy, you HAVE to keep the most vulnerable patients in mind. They are the ones that will suffer. Even though my baby WAS HEALTHY, was treated, and is currently healthy, he still has to undergo cardiology testing regularly to this day. It doesn’t matter age, race, time. Viruses are deadly and they attack immune systems without warning. Please, understand. Kawasaki disease is one of those illnesses that doesn’t have a ton of background educational resources. No one knows where it comes from or why it happens. What we do know is that it causes inflamed blood vessels and requires emergency care because it eventually attacks cardio + respiratory; and he had infectious precautions. If you’re hip to Grey’s Anatomy, watch Season 9, Episode 19. It’s an entire episode on Kawasaki Disease.
